Eastbound, New York to Bremen. position at midnight 39.47N., 50.10W. At 12:36 a.m. was in radio contact with Titanic, but was unable to offer assistance because she was 120 miles south of the sinking vessel.

Surrendered by Germany to Great Britain. Chartered by U.S. Navy for use as transport.

July 14, 1920

After reallocation to Great Britain, chartered by Canadian Pacific for one voyage, commencing on this date: Liverpool-Quebec and return.

September 2, 1921

Purchased from the [War] Reparations Commission by Canadian Pacific. Refitted for trans-Pacific service; provisionally renamed Empress of China but never ran under that name.

October 12, 1921

Renamed Empress of India. Assigned to Atlantic service.

June 23, 1922

First voyage as Empress of India, Liverpool-Quebec.

July-October 1922
